Trend Micro Sets up New company for Managed Security Offerings

Jon Oltisk, a principal analyst at IT research and strategy firm Enterprise Strategy Group ESG, documented his observations on Trend Micro’s recently-concluded Trend Insights event in an opinion column on CSO Online. Oltsik noted that Trend Micro is setting up a new company called Cysiv, which will offer managed security services. According to a press release issued in September, Cysiv, which is being established in partnership with non-profit data security organization HITRUST, will provide a variety of AI-powered security services, including continuous monitoring and advanced threat detection, in order to augment a company’s in-house security division. For Oltisk, Cysiv was established because Trend Micro recognized corporate interest in offloading cybersecurity functions to third-party vendors due to a lack of in-house skill, manpower, or other resources.
